36 bodies found across Karachi in three days amid extreme heat

On Sunday, 10 bodies were found, followed by 15 on Monday, and 11 on Tuesday

The discovery of bodies continued for a third consecutive day in Karachi amidst an extreme hot weather, with 11 bodies, including that of a woman, found in various parts of the city on Tuesday. Only three of the deceased have been identified so far.

Over the past three days, the total number of bodies found in Karachi has reached 36. Volunteers from Chhipa and Edhi organisations transported the bodies to government hospitals and then to mortuaries. On Sunday, 10 bodies were found, followed by 15 on Monday, and 11 on Tuesday.

According to Chhipa officials, a 55-year-old unidentified man's body was found near Signal No. 3 in Soldier Bazaar around 3:30pm on Tuesday and taken to Civil Hospital. The cause of death remains unknown. At 5:38pm, Chhipa volunteers found a 50-year-old unidentified man's body near Jamal Mosque in Gulshan-e-Maymar, and at 5:39pm, another body was found near Orangi Town No. 12, later identified as 50-year-old Munawar Ali. The causes of their deaths have not been determined.

Around 6:16pm, Chhipa volunteers transported the body of a 35-year-old unidentified man found near Dua Hotel on Mauripur Road to Civil Hospital. At 6:30pm, another 35-year-old unidentified man's body was found near Noorani Hotel in Manghopir. Both causes of death are unknown. At 8:30pm, Chhipa volunteers moved the body of a 55-year-old unidentified woman found near Schon Circle Underpass in Clifton to a mortuary after police procedures.

Edhi officials reported that at 1:18am on Monday night, a 32-year-old man named Umair was found dead in New Karachi's Sector 5-J and taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The cause of death is undetermined. Edhi volunteers also found two bodies around 2:16am in Surjani Town, including a 55-year-old unidentified man near Peer Khan Goth and a 75-year-old man named Rehmat near Younis Goth in Lyari. The causes of their deaths remain unknown.

On Tuesday, at 1:42pm, Edhi volunteers discovered the body of a 50-year-old unidentified man near Chhapra Hotel in Korangi’s Mehran Town and transported it to the Korangi Industrial Area police station for initial investigations before moving it to Sohrab Goth mortuary. At 8:17pm, another body of a 50-year-old unidentified man was found near Anar Khan Thale in Orangi Town's Sector 11½ and taken to a nearby police station, then to Sohrab Goth mortuary. The causes of their deaths are also unknown.

Hospitals in Karachi, including Jinnah and Civil, continue to receive dozens of patients affected by the extreme heat, many of whom were treated and discharged after initial medical aid.
