Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” climbs to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, just one week after debuting at No. 2.

This marks the pop singer-songwriter and actress’s first No. 1 hit on the chart.

The song, released by Island Records and promoted to radio by Republic Corps, garnered 50.9 million official streams (a 1% increase) – marking Carpenter’s highest streaming week for a song in her career.

It also achieved 3.2 million radio airplay audience impressions (a 502% increase) and sold 7,000 units (a 10% decrease) in the U.S. during the tracking week of June 14-20, according to Luminate.

The single remains at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart for a second week and stays at No. 7 in its second week on the Digital Song Sales chart. (It has not yet appeared on the Radio Songs chart.)

"Please Please Please" was released on June 7, along with its official video featuring Carpenter's partner, Oscar-nominated Barry Keoghan. She performed the song during her set at New York's Governors Ball the following day.

On June 18, acoustic, a cappella, instrumental, sped-up, and slowed-down versions of the song were released. On June 20, Carpenter announced her 29-date Short n' Sweet Tour, which will begin on September 23 in Columbus, Ohio.

She previously opened for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour in South America from August to November 2023 and joined Swift again in February-March for dates in Australia and Singapore.

The track, along with "Espresso," which is currently at No. 4 on the Hot 100 after peaking at No. 3, introduces Carpenter’s album "Short n’ Sweet," set to be released on August 23.

The Hot 100 combines data from U.S. streaming (both official audio and video), radio airplay, and sales, excluding digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites. All charts dated June 29, 2024, will be updated on Billboard.com on Tuesday, June 25.
