The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced suspension of gas supply from 8am to 8pm in several areas of the city on Sunday (today) due to the installation of a new gas distribution pipeline.
The distribution from Azeempura to Jam Sadiq Bridge will be carried out at two key points that will impact all sectors of Korangi, including both industrial and domestic areas, as well as Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and its adjoining areas. Among the areas for suspension include Defence View, Manzoor Colony, Akhtar Colony, Kashmir Colony, Mehmoodabad, Azam Basti, Qayyumabad, DHA Phase II Extension, Phase IV, Phase V and Extension, Phase VII and Extension, and Phase VIII, including Creek Vista and Emaar.
The residents and businesses in these areas are advised to make necessary arrangements to mitigate the impact of the 12-hour suspension. Earlier this week, SSGC turned active in curbing gas theft by conducting raids in Sindh and Balochistan. So far they have removed 770 illegal connections and lodged First Information Reports (FIR) against offenders.
