the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested 22 men suspected of being linked with banned organisations during operations in different areas.
According to the spokesman, the CTD conducted 152 intelligence based operations in different districts, during which 152 persons were interrogated and 22 of them arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited material.
The spokesperson added that explosives weighing 1.645kg, three grenades, an IED, 12 detonators, safety fuse wire, pistols with bullets, banned books, magazines, pamphlets, stickers, flags, receipt books, mobile phones and Rs78,500 had been seized from the suspected terrorists.
He said the arrested suspects had planned sabotage across the province and wanted to target important installations.
The police registered
19 cases against the arrested men and shifted them to an unknown location, he added.
