ISLAMABAD:

Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has said that equipping the youth with digital skills for their capacity building is the need of the hour as better employment opportunities can be found through digital literacy.

Talking to a high-level delegation of Google on Friday, the state minister emphasised that both teachers and students must be trained in using digital tools.

“Smart schools are vital for remote learning. The IT ministry will fully cooperate with Google in implementing its initiatives,” she said. She appreciated Google for Education for the local assembly of Chromebooks in Pakistan, adding that the provision of digital tools to both teachers and students would help in reducing the education divide in the country.
