Taylor Swift's private jet escapes vandalism attempt by climate activists in London

Climate activists from the group Just Stop Oil attempted to vandalize private jets at Stansted Airport in London.

The act aimed to draw attention to environmental concerns linked to Taylor Swift's private jet usage. 

The activists, identified as Jennifer Kowalski and Cole Macdonald, breached security at the airport and sprayed bright orange paint on two aircraft. Despite their efforts, Swift's jet was not present during the incident, as confirmed by AP.

In a statement posted online, Just Stop Oil claimed responsibility for the act, emphasizing their demand for urgent action to halt fossil fuel use by 2030.

"We cut the fence into the private airfield at Stansted where Taylor Swift's jet is parked," the activists stated, advocating for an emergency treaty to curb oil, gas, and coal extraction.

Essex Police responded swiftly to the incident, arresting two individuals suspected of criminal damage and disrupting national infrastructure. 

Chief Superintendent Simon Anslow assured that while they support peaceful protests, criminal acts will be addressed with appropriate measures.

Swift's representatives have not yet commented on the incident. However, the singer's private jet usage has been scrutinized in the past. 

Marketing agency Yard highlighted significant emissions linked to her flights, making her a focal point in discussions about celebrity environmental impact. 

Swift's team countered these claims, citing the occasional loaning of her aircraft as a factor in the reported emissions.

The incident comes ahead of Swift's scheduled performances at Wembley Stadium, where she is set to kick off the Eras Tour this weekend. 

The singer's jet usage has sparked controversy previously, with incidents ranging from legal threats to social media disputes over disclosures of her travel habits.
