Lorde and Charli XCX have revisited their past feud by collaborating on a remix of Charli's track "Girl, So Confusing."

The remix, which features new vocals from Lorde, delves into their turbulent relationship and the insecurities that fueled their rift.

"It's you and me on a coin the industry loves to spin," Lorde sings in the song, which highlights Charli's complex relationship with another artist.

Originally released on June 7 as part of Charli's Brat album, "Girl, So Confusing" chronicles her emotional entanglement with another female singer.

Charli sings about the other woman's desire to see her "falling over" and "failing," as well as awkward meetings where they made halfhearted plans to collaborate. Internet rumors speculated the song was about Lorde, especially given the lyrical parallels to Lorde's "Team."

In the remix, Charli and Lorde exchange verses about their insecurities and how they impacted each other.

Lorde admits to being "speechless" upon receiving a raw voicemail from Charli, expressing her feelings about their relationship. Lorde promises to "work it out on the remix."

"You always say, 'let's go out,' but then I cancel last minute. I was so lost in my head and scared to be in the pictures, because for the last couple years I've been avoiding my body. I tried to starve myself thinner, then I gained all the weight back," Lorde reveals in the song.

"I was trapped in a hatred and your life seemed so awesome. I never thought for a second my voice was in your head."

Lorde and Charli's remix touches on their similar appearances and the industry's penchant for drawing comparisons between them. Charli openly discussed these similarities in a May interview with Rolling Stone, referencing a 2014 incident where she was mistaken for Lorde.

“When ‘Royals’ came out, I was super jealous of the success that that song got, and that [Lorde] got. You piece all this stuff together in your brain, like: ‘She was into my music. She had big hair; I had big hair. She wore black lipstick; I once wore black lipstick.’

“You create these parallels and think, ‘Well, that could have been me.’ But it couldn’t have because we’re completely different people," Charli explained.

Despite their past issues, Charli mentioned that they were on good terms at the time of the interview, and Lorde attended one of Charli's New York City performances on June 11, shortly after Brat's release.
