According to DSP Salman Waheed, a security guard named Zubair opened fire on 35-year-old Ghulam Riaz. The bullet hit Riaz in the leg and he was immediately shifted to the hospital, while Zubair escaped.

DSP Waheed said that Riaz, a water tanker driver had come to supply water to a house in the area. While reversing, the water tanker hit a bamboo barrier and broke it.

The security guard Zubair and a resident named Sherry had an argument with the tanker driver. Riaz offered to pay for the damages, but Zubair, showing intolerance, shot the water tanker driver and injured him in the leg and escaped from the spot.
