The reported deaths of two leopard cubs has prompted officials in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to launch an investigation into the incident.

Local authorities in Muzaffarabad's Phgwan Dupatta area were alerted after pictures of the feline cubs began circulating on social media.

Wildlife authorities reached the site where the cubs were apparently present in the video.

Officials told a local news organisation that an investigation into the incident had been launched but there was not much to be done until the bodies od the leopard cubs were found.
Although residents couldn't share any details regarding the latest incident they said that leopards would often stray into their area in search of food. They added that the felines' presence posed a risk to the villagers' cattle.
