Police official kills two lawyers over ‘family feud’

RAWALPINDI:

An Elite Force commando of police on Saturday fatally shot two lawyers on the premises of a civil court in Attock.

The deceased were identified as Malik Israr Advocate who was a member of the Punjab Bar Council and Advocate Zulfiqar Mirza.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred due to a family feud.

The lawyers were shifted to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. Their bodies were handed over to their heirs after post mortem.

Accused sub-inspector Intizar Shah was arrested and shifted to a police station.

The official weapon that he used in the incident was also seized.

An FIR was lodged against the accused in which terrorism provisions were added.

The police spokesperson stated that District Police Officer (DPO) Attock had taken notice of the gruesome killing and suspended three police officials.

He further said that
RPO Muhammad Sarfraz had sought a detailed report of the incident from the DPO.

Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar ordered strict action against the accused.
