YouTube sensation IShowSpeed, known for his athletic feats, recently ventured into the world of hockey. In a video collaboration with Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield, Speed was introduced to the sport, complete with a custom jersey and equipment.
During the session, Speed learned the basics of skating and attempted to score, even managing a soccer-style header goal. The intensity increased during a practice game when Speed encountered physical play, facing body checks from an opposing player.
In response, Speed resorted to a familiar soccer move, executing a slide tackle. This led to his first hockey fight, where he showcased his potential as an enforcer by managing his opponent before Caufield intervened to stop the altercation.
Reflecting on the experience, Speed admitted the sport's difficulty. “You can see by the look on my face. I’m done. It’s hard,” he said from the locker room. “It may look super stupid on camera, but it’s way harder than it looks. It’s like playing two sports – ice skating and it’s a stick and a puck.”
This hockey endeavor follows Speed's recent participation in the 2024 Gloucestershire cheese rolling competition, where he impressively finished fourth without prior preparation.
