Former Good Morning America co-anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes opened up about the aftermath of their affair and subsequent departure from ABC News, revealing that they lost touch with many of their colleagues.
In a recent episode of their podcast, "Amy & T.J.", Robach shared how their dressing room was initially filled with supportive colleagues after news of their relationship broke. However, once it was clear they wouldn't be returning to GMA, the support dwindled, and many former friends disappeared.
Holmes acknowledged that some colleagues likely distanced themselves to protect their own jobs, fearing association with the ousted couple. He and Robach also admitted to avoiding certain former colleagues out of concern for potential backlash.
Despite the lost connections, the couple remains close with a select few friends who have stuck by them. They shared an anecdote about a recent lunch with a close friend, expressing their initial hesitation to meet in public due to fear of negative attention.
Robach and Holmes' affair became public in November 2022, leading to their removal from GMA3. Both were married at the time, but have since finalised their divorces. Their new podcast, launched in December 2023, marks their return to the public eye.
Interestingly, their exes, Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue, have since started dating each other, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
