SZA's star continues to rise as she adds another prestigious award to her collection. The "Kill Bill" singer received the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2024 Induction and Awards Gala, honouring her significant impact on the music industry through her original songwriting.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, SZA expressed her disbelief during her acceptance speech, stating, "I'm just beyond all of my wildest dreams." She further emphasised the significance of the award, particularly as a Black woman in the industry, stating, "It just means the world." Following her heartfelt speech, the singer captivated the audience with an acoustic rendition of her hit song "Snooze."

The Hal David Starlight Award is the latest addition to SZA's list of accolades, which includes three Grammys, four iHeartRadio Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, and a Brit Award. She joins the ranks of past recipients such as Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, and Lil Nas X.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame gala, held in New York City, also celebrated the induction of several renowned artists, including Steely Dan's Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, Timbaland, and R.E.M. Mike Mills and Michael Stipe. The evening featured performances by Missy Elliott, Jason Isbell, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.

SZA's award season continues with five nominations at the 2024 BET Awards, including a nod for her collaboration with Drake on "Rich Baby Daddy." She is also set to perform at various festivals, including Summerfest and the British Summer Time Hyde Park concert series in London.

Beyond music, SZA is venturing into acting with her first feature-length role in a buddy comedy alongside Keke Palmer, produced by Issa Rae.
