PTI’s central secretariat de-sealed, IHC told

IESCO clarifies power supply to party’s secretariat not suspended

ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has apprised the Islamabad High Court (IHC) of the de-sealing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) central secretariat on court orders after which the court dismissed the application for contempt of court against the authority’s head.

IHC Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan heard the contempt of court application against the PTI central secretariat not being de-sealed. The court ordered to de-seal the PTI’s central secretariat and sent a bailiff to de-seal the office. The hearing of the case was adjourned until the court was informed about the de-sealing of the central secretariat.

Later, the CDA informed the court regarding the de-sealing of the PTI office on the court orders upon which the court disposed of the contempt application filed by PTI Secretary General Umar Ayub Khan.

It should be noted that IHC Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz had ordered to de-seal of the party’s central secretariat. A contempt of court application was filed against the CDA chairman for not de-sealing the secretariat.

On the other hand, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has clarified that the company has not disconnected the power supply to the PTI’s secretariat in Sector G-8 of the federal capital.

The power supply to the building was suspended due to a possible internal wiring fault, said the IESCO spokesperson. He said ensuring the electricity supply to the meter was the responsibility of the company’s field formation.
