Lilly Gaddis, a self-proclaimed "trad wife," was terminated from her job after using a racial slur and making offensive remarks in a TikTok cooking video.
The incident quickly gained widespread attention on social media, leading to her account suspension and job loss.
In the video, Gaddis used the N-word and referred to "dumb whores,” “immigrants fresh off the boat looking for a green card,” and “gold diggers" while filming herself cooking. She stated, “You are getting the opinion from some dumb whores and immigrants fresh off the boat looking for a green card. Yes, they are probably gold diggers but that is the exception — I am the rule.”
@ropheotc I think it’s absolutely disgusting that you all have such a foul mouth, racist, and disrespectful person associated to your company. She’s disgusting! I will repost this every single day until it’s corrected! Lilly Gaddis! pic.twitter.com/PshlJG5Po3

The video garnered millions of views, and Gaddis’s account was subsequently suspended. Despite the backlash, Gaddis remained defiant. When a commenter questioned her by writing, "MARRIED TO WHO???", she replied, "You heard me."
Gaddis addressed the controversy in a response video on June 10 via X, formerly Twitter, to her 73,000 followers, saying, "All the backlash made me do a deep dive and a soul search and after all that I still couldn’t find a care."

Following the incident, Gaddis was fired from her job at Rophe of the Carolinas, a home healthcare company for the elderly and disabled based in Wilmington, North Carolina. The company released a statement on June 11 about a “newly hired” employee, without naming Gaddis, stating that the employee was dismissed for making “inflammatory remarks on social media that do not align with the values and beliefs" of the company, which is “operated by African American female and immigrant-owned businesses.”
In response to her termination, Gaddis wrote on X, "Oh no I just got fired! #mob," and began sharing posts from right-wing influencers. She added, “If my freedom of speech [is] taken, they’ll be coming for yours next.”
Gaddis continued to use the racial slur in subsequent posts and sarcastically thanked the black community, writing, "Thanks black community for helping to launch my new career in conservative media! You all played your role well like the puppets you are."
Gaddis appears to have created a new TikTok account, where she posted a video captioned, "You can’t take me down. P.S tiktok i am not bullying," using the hashtag Trump 2024. However, the sound on her first two videos has since been muted.
