Varsity hosts two-day book fair

Renowned poet donates 72 books to the university’s library collection

A two-day book fair featuring a wide range of books and reading material belonging to various genres was organised by the University of Haripur.

The event was held with great enthusiasm and saw significant participation from the university community. The presence of deans, heads of departments, faculty members, staff and students in large numbers made the book fair a memorable and impactful event for Haripur University.

The book fair was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Shafiqur Rehman and renowned poet Javed Iqbal Afgar. During the inaugural function, the VC visited various book stalls and reviewed a wide range of books on display.

Javed Iqbal Afgar, on his part, generously donated 72 Urdu-Pashto books and 47 periodicals, which added to the university’s library resources. He also expressed his enthusiasm and appreciation for the event and highlighted its importance in promoting the culture of reading and learning.

Dr Shafiqur Rehman, in his address, emphasised the importance of such events in providing valuable opportunities to students to enhance their knowledge and support their intellectual growth.
