Six killed in Islamabad-Lahore motorway collision

Six people died on Monday in a collision between a cement mixer and a car on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway near Kallar Kahar.

According to Express News, the incident occurred due to a brake failure in the cement mixer, causing it to lose control and collide with an oncoming car.

The truck crushed the car, and both vehicles caught fire, burning all occupants, sources said.

Rescue authorities stated that the burnt bodies were shifted to a trauma centre while rescue operations were underway.

Investigations revealed that the car, travelling from Lahore to Islamabad, carried a family of four: two men, one woman, and a child. Two individuals were present in the truck.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic traffic accident.

According to a handout, Naqvi extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims' families, stating, "We share their grief and sorrow in this difficult time."

He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the bereaved families the courage to bear this irreparable loss.
