A female school teacher was brutally murdered allegedly by her own brother in the name of honor in the Katlang area of Mardan district.
Police told The Express Tribune that the incident happened outside Tehsil Taza Gram Post Office near Government Higher Secondary School.
Complainant Rahimdad lodged an FIR with Kharkai police station, stating that his 30-year-old daughter Shumaila was unmarried and she always had a fight with her brother Osama.
“Six months ago she suddenly disappeared and we received information that she had gotten married. Osama was after her since then and on Saturday I received information that Shumaila had been killed,” he stated, adding that when he reached hospital he found the girl lying dead on the hospital bed.
He nominated his son Osama as the prime suspect in the case because he was really upset with the sudden disappearance and then marriage of Shumaila.
Police registered an FIR in the case and opened investigation.
An investigation officer said that as per initial investigation, the girl was traveling in a Suzuki pick up and her brother Osma intercepted the vehicle, took her out of it and killed in cold blood.
