In a low-scoring T20 World Cup encounter, India emerged victorious against Pakistan by a narrow margin of six runs.

The match, marked by exceptional bowling performances, saw Jasprit Bumrah being declared the Player of the Match for his remarkable figures of 3 wickets for just 14 runs in four overs.

Pakistan, chasing a target of 120, faltered despite a strong start by openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Bumrah's crucial wickets, including that of Azam, set the tone for India's defense.

Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh also made significant contributions, restricting Pakistan's scoring opportunities.

"I think they bowled well after 10 overs. We were chasing 120, we were run a ball for the first 10 overs, but back to back wickets and then [we left too much in the end]. Tactics was simple, play normally, rotate strike, 5-6 an over. But in that period we had too many dot balls, the pressure was on us, and we lost three quick wickets. Can't expect too much from tailenders. We were not up to the mark in the first six overs, we had targeted 40-45 runs, we have not capitalised properly. Pitch looked decent, ball coming nicely. Little bit slow, some balls are bouncing a bit more, but you expect it with a drop-in pitch," Babar Azam said in the post-match ceremony.

India's innings, on the other hand, saw a collapse as they were bowled out for 119 runs. Pakistan's pace attack, led by Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, wreaked havoc, with Mohammad Amir also claiming crucial wickets.

Despite initial setbacks, India managed to reach a respectable total, thanks to some valuable contributions from their middle-order batsmen.

Both teams faced challenges due to rain interruptions, adding to the intensity of the match. Pakistan, despite facing fitness concerns over Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim, put up a commendable fight.

However, India's strategic decisions, including the promotion of Virat Kohli to open the innings, proved instrumental in securing the win.

Overall, it was a fiercely contested match, showcasing the competitive spirit of both teams in one of cricket's most anticipated rivalries.
