Babar Azam is now the second-highest run-scorer in the shortest format of the game, surpassing Kohli's previous record. Before this, Kohli held the record with 4,438 runs, while Rohit Sharma was in third place with 4,274 runs.

Irfan Pathan tweeted, stating that despite being in a good batting position as captain if you're playing 40+ balls at a strike rate of 100, it won't benefit the team.

On the other hand, renowned Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle wrote that he has seen Babar Azam play many exceptional innings, but this 44 (43) won't be included among them. He hasn't been in good form in major tournaments.
