A spokesman for the Sindh Health Department said that 159 cases of dengue fever were reported in Karachi, while 22 cases were reported in interior Sindh.
At least 18 cases have been detected in Tando Muhammad Khan and two each in Naushero Feroze and Hyderabad.
Dengue in Punjab
Dengue cases are on the rise at an alarming rate in the Punjab province with 86 new cases reported, out of which 75 are from Lahore alone.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the provincial government is taking all possible steps to evade an epidemic.
The Punjab Chief Minister directed the administration to form emergency committees to review the overall situation of dengue patients.
The total number of patients suffering from the disease in the province has crossed 1,800.
This includes over 20 Rescue 1122 personnel and four doctors of Jinnah hospital.
Officials said three people have died so far, while relatives of victims said 10 people were killed since the outbreak last month.
Meanwhile, in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, two lives have been lost due to the virus. The provincial health department said 44 cases have been reported from across KP.
