Former premier pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar expressed disappointment over Pakistan's loss to the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024, crediting the hosts for their dominant performance.

Reacting on his Instagram account, Akhtar stated, "Disappointing loss for Pakistan. We are not off to a good start, losing to USA."

He compared it to Pakistan's defeat against Bangladesh in the 1999 World Cup. "Unfortunately, Pakistan never deserved to win," he remarked, acknowledging USA's strong performance.

"Mohammad Amir saved the match," he added. In a thrilling encounter, the USA set a target of 19 runs in the super over, eventually winning the match at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
