Memon asks Gandapur to remain CM, not “goon”

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday warned Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to stop “issuing threats” to K-P Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, noting that such act was not only an insult to an individual but was also an attack on the “essence of our constitutional system”.

In a statement, Memon asked Gandapur to remain a chief minister and not become a “goon”. “We do not consider Gandapur the chief minister of K-P but only of PTI,” he said. “It seems Gandapur was probably meant to be a goon but was mistakenly made the chief minister,” he added. The Sindh information minister noted that “issuing threats” to the governor was not just an insult to an individual but was an attack on the “essence of our constitutional system”.

“Faisal Karim Kundi is holding an important constitutional position. Issuing threats to him is unacceptable and falls under the head of terrorism,” Memon stated.

The Sindh information minister noted that intimidation by a person holding a high public was a matter of grave concern, seeking “immediate and decisive action” against Gandapur. He emphasized that PPP consistently exercised restraint and upheld the highest standards of conduct.
