Josh Brolin, known for his roles in major franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Dune, has joined the already star-studded cast of Rian Johnson's "Knives Out 3: Wake Up Dead Man" as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, set to begin production in the UK in early June, will see Brolin star alongside Daniel Craig, who reprises his role as the eccentric detective Benoit Blanc.

While plot details and character descriptions remain under wraps, the film is expected to follow the same captivating format as Johnson's previous Knives Out mysteries.

Blanc will once again be tasked with solving a murder surrounded by a group of eccentric and suspicious characters.

The impressive ensemble cast already includes Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis.

Rian Johnson, who wrote and will direct the film, will also produce alongside his partner Ram Bergman through their T-Street banner.

Brolin has become a prominent figure in the film industry, particularly within the franchise world. His most notable role in recent years has been as the villainous Thanos in the Avengers films.

He has also starred in Deadpool 2, the Dune movies, and the gritty Sicario crime thrillers.

Currently, Brolin can be seen in the second season of Prime Video's sci-fi Western series "Outer Range," and he is in production on Zach Cregger's upcoming horror film "Weapons."

Additionally, Brolin is set to release his memoir, "From Under the Truck," with Harper Collins in November.
