Parents declining vaccination warned

Over 4,000 mobile teams deputed in Multan

MULTAN:

Deputy Commissioner Wasim Hamid Sindhu said on Monday that strict action would be initiated against parents refusing to get their children vaccinated during the anti-polio campaign.

During a surprise visit to monitor the vaccination drive, he met teams administering polio drops to kids and stressed the achievement of the targets.

The district administration has launched a special three-day anti-polio campaign.

The DC reviewed the polio vaccination campaign by visiting informal settlements and residential areas.

District Health Authority (DHA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Faisal Qaisrani briefed the deputy commissioner on the polio vaccination campaign.

The DC stated that more than 1.02 million children will be administered polio drops in three days, and over 4,000 mobile teams have been formed by the health department for the purpose.

Special camps have been set up at all hospitals, dispensaries, bus and wagon stands, and railway stations to ensure the campaign's success. Sindhu mentioned that a control room has been established for managing information and complaints during the campaign. The official also administered polio drops to children by visiting homes.
