The Duke of Sussex's shocking memoir, "Spare," rattled the Royal Family with its many shocking claims, potentially leading Prince Harry to legal trouble as well.
Following his admission in the book regarding past usage of cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms, inquiries arose regarding whether Harry had disclosed this prior recreational drug use on his visa application upon moving to the US.
The Heritage Foundation, a think tank located in Washington, is currently suing the US government to obtain access to Prince Harry's immigration records. They argue that it is a case concerning whether the government grants preferential treatment to high-profile celebrities.
The foundation is pointing to the documentation Prince Harry submitted when he arrived in the US on March 14, 2020, highlighting that individuals entering America typically need to respond to inquiries regarding their history of recreational drug use.
This development might raise fresh concerns for Prince Harry, as former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond expressed to OK! Magazine: "Harry must regret having been so frank about drugs in his book. It really wasn’t a necessary part of the narrative although I understand that he was trying to explain his mental health issues."
"In the end, though, I can’t imagine that the USA would actually throw him out. Lawyers would find some way around it, I think. But it must be an unnecessary worry and embarrassment for Harry at the moment.”
"I suppose if the worst came to the worst, they would have to find somewhere else to live but I doubt that it would be the UK. Perhaps Canada would look kindly on them. But I don’t think it will come to that."
