Megan Thee Stallion is turning up the heat this summer with a new album for the Hotties.
The rapper behind "Body," aged 29, delighted fans during her headline Hot Girl Summer tour by revealing the release of her highly anticipated third studio album, Megan, scheduled for June 28th.
In addition to her announcement, the Grammy-winning hip-hop artist revealed a QR code for fans to pre-save the upcoming album at her Atlanta performance.
Megan's arrival comes months after the rapper started her series of snake-themed singles, including "Cobra," "Boa," and "Hiss," with the latter topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this year.
Discussing the reptile theme in her recent L'Officiel cover story, Megan stated, “We don't just stop at the snake,” regarding her new album.
“This is just what everybody sees right now. Renewal, rebirth: that is the whole concept of this [album],” she clarified.
“We started with the snake because, first of all, I love snakes, but I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in western culture. Snakes represent rebirth, spirituality. I'm not really a person that's like, Oh my God, sunshine and just super bubbly, happy. I like darker things. I like things that are a little scary. I like things that are unique. I picked the snake because… it's kind of like an antihero.”
The Traumazine artist hinted that she's exploring different sounds on Megan, her first album since 2022, yet she assured fans that the project still embodies her essence.
“It won't feel like I went so left. It'll feel true to me,” said Megan. “You'll almost be like, ‘I wouldn't have thought she would've rapped over that, but this sounds great.’”
Megan's album announcement follows her collaboration with GloRilla, a member of the Hot Girl Summer tour, and Cardi B for a remix of their track "Wanna Be," released on May 31. The rap trio teased the single during Megan's sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden on May 22 in N.Y.C.
Megan will be accessible for streaming and purchase starting June 28th.
