Jamshoro judge recovers five from DSP's private jail

Victims say police were torturing them to extract a million rupees in ransom

In a stark example of disappearing line between police and criminals, Jamshoro Additional Sessions Judge raided the Nooriabad police station and recovered five persons from an illegal private jail of Nooriabad DSP.

The victims, Asif Palari, his brothers Naveed Palari, and cousin Waheed Palari, as well as two members of the Marri community, were locked up in the private quarters of DSP Badaruddin Bhutto.

The rescued individuals narrated horrifying details of police torture and told the judge that cops were demanding ransom of Rs1 million for their release.

The judge checked other records including daily FIR book. Due to non-entry of the victims, DSP Badruddin Bhutto, SHO Nooriabad Zahid Iqbal Chandio, Head Muharrar Sikandar Brahmani were summoned to the court today for answers and released all the people in custody.

The judge had taken action on the application of Dost Muhammad Palari and Murad Ali Palari for the recovery of their sons from illegal confinement.
