Prince William and Princess Kate are not worried about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie strengthening their ties with Meghan and Harry, despite the family estrangement, told royal commentator to GBN America.
As reported, the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have stayed in touch with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following their relocation to the US after departing from the UK.
"I find this interesting because I wonder which camp this is really coming out of, because I think among the worries that William and Kate have, that might be further down the list,” said Maureen Callahan, Daily Mail columnist, while speaking to GBN America.
“I find it a little bit hard to believe that they would be that worried about, let's be honest, lesser royals becoming closer to Harry and Meghan full well knowing the liabilities that would cost them,” she added.
"They already have a father who, in essence, a Prince in exile. They have to make a very calculated decision as to which house these two, Beatrice and Eugenie, want to ally themselves with,” she continued.
However, Tom Quinn, another royal commentator, has claimed that Prince and Princess of Wales are “worried” about the alliance.
Speaking to The Mirror he said, "For William and Kate, an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry.”
"They sense that Beatrice and Eugenie feel that, as virtual outcasts themselves, they have far more in common with Harry and Megan than with any other part of the family,” Quinn continued.
"The situation is made worse by the fact that the senior royals’ main asset – Kate herself - is effectively out of action while she continues her treatment for cancer,” he added.
Callahan informed that Kate will probably not be making a public appearance again for the rest of 2024.
