In a cover story interview with TIME, Selena Gomez delves into the multifaceted nature of her life, touching on her conflicted feelings about touring, the value she places on genuine connections, and the joys and challenges of navigating fame and relationships in the public eye.

Gomez candidly shares her internal struggle with the idea of touring, "Nothing makes me happier than 90 minutes of being with my fans and just celebrating together," Gomez told the outlet, explaining why she feels "50/50" on the prospect.

"It is very emotionally draining for me. And then you realise you’re just surrounded by a bunch of people that you’re paying," Gomez, 31, added.

The singer, who last toured in 2016 before stepping back due to mental health struggles, expresses a desire to prioritise her well-being and carefully consider the impact of such a demanding endeavour.

The Rare Beauty founder also sheds light on the complexities of female friendships in the entertainment industry, describing a competitive environment that often feels isolating. She emphasises the importance of surrounding herself with "level headed people" who value her for who she is, not her celebrity status. Gomez's openness about her experiences with loneliness and the ongoing challenges of mental health resonates with many who have faced similar struggles.

In addition to her reflections on touring and friendship, Gomez shares insights into her flourishing relationship with boyfriend Benny Blanco."I know what people can do to people I love," she told the publication. "My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life. But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him."

Gomez continued: "It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon."

The artist also discusses her recent projects, including her role in the upcoming film "Emilia Pérez" and her return to the hit Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building." Fans eagerly anticipate the possibility of a "Wizards of Waverly Place" revival, where Gomez would reprise her beloved role as Alex Russo.
