Armed robbers barged into a house in DHA Phase IV Commercial Area at midday on Wednesday, held a woman at gunpoint, and fled with gold jewelry and cash worth millions of rupees. Gizri police station Tanveer Murad said that according to the lady of the house, the robbers told her that they needed money and were committing the robbery out of compulsion.
They searched the rooms and took Rs100,000 in cash, gold jewelry, including a gold chain, earrings, and a ring, before fleeing the scene.
The SHO stated that the woman in the bungalow reported one of the robbers was wearing a mask, while the other had an uncovered face. The bungalow belongs to Muhammad Khalil, who trades in sanitary and hardware goods. The owner suspects the involvement of his former driver in the robbery. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
Boy loses life to win bet
A 12-year-old boy, Shah Muhammad, died of consuming a bottle of vinegar as a bet with a nimco seller, Nizam Din, in Gulshan-e-Maymar area on Wednesday.
The child after winning Rs100 drank a bottle cold drink on which his condition deteriorated, the principal of the school where he studied told the police.
