Twenty-five years ago, the charming romantic comedy "Notting Hill" captured hearts with its delightful tale of love between a starstruck bookstore owner and a famous actress, played by fan favorites Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

Since its release in May 1999, the film has become a classic, earning over $360 million at the box office and cementing Roberts and Grant's status as Hollywood royalty.

"People" magazine described the film as a "sleek, irresistible romantic comedy" that "couldn't be more fun," praising Roberts for her vulnerability and Grant for his charmingly awkward flirtation.

Julia Roberts, already a household name thanks to hits like "Pretty Woman" and "My Best Friend's Wedding," took on the role of actress Anna Scott.

Reflecting on her portrayal, Roberts noted the character's high-strung nature and the need to differentiate her from herself.

Since "Notting Hill," Roberts has continued to shine in Hollywood, winning an Oscar for "Erin Brockovich" and starring in numerous acclaimed films and TV shows.

Hugh Grant, who skyrocketed to fame with "Four Weddings and a Funeral" five years prior to "Notting Hill," reunited with writer Richard Curtis for the film.

Grant admitted feeling intimidated by Roberts but went on to deliver another memorable performance.

In the years following "Notting Hill," Grant has enjoyed a prolific career, earning accolades for his work in films like "Love Actually" and "The Undoing."

Rhys Ifans, who portrayed William's quirky roommate Spike, charmed audiences with his eccentricity. Ifans has continued to act in a variety of projects, showcasing his versatility and talent on screen.

Hugh Bonneville, who played William's friend Bernie, found success in both film and television, most notably as Robert Crawley in "Downton Abbey."

Emma Chambers, beloved for her role as William's sister Honey, left a lasting impression with her spirited performance.

Tragically, Chambers passed away in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of memorable characters.

As fans celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Notting Hill," they fondly remember the magic of the film and the talented actors who brought it to life.
