Andrew Scott joins cast for 'Knives Out 3: Wake Up Dead Man'

The Knives Out franchise, known for its ensemble casts of suspects, has seen immense success since its debut in 2019.

Andrew Scott, the actor known for his roles in "Fleabag" and "Ripley," has been added to the star-studded cast of "Knives Out 3: Wake Up Dead Man." as reported by Variety.  The third instalment in Rian Johnson's popular whodunit franchise will see Scott join previously announced cast members Daniel Craig, who reprises his role as detective Benoit Blanc, Josh O'Connor, and Cailee Spaeny.

Johnson, who wrote and directed the first two films, will return to helm "Wake Up Dead Man," promising it to be Blanc's "most dangerous case yet." He is also producing alongside his T-Street partner Ram Bergman. The film is expected to begin production soon and is slated for a 2025 release.

The "Knives Out" franchise, known for its ensemble casts of suspects, has seen immense success. The original 2019 film grossed $312 million against a $40 million budget, prompting Netflix to acquire the rights for a hefty sum. The sequel, "Glass Onion," debuted in 2022 and enjoyed a limited theatrical run before streaming on Netflix.

"Wake Up Dead Man" reunites Scott with Daniel Craig, with whom he previously shared the screen in the 2015 James Bond film "Spectre." Scott's career has been on the rise since his breakout role as the Hot Priest in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's "Fleabag." He has since garnered critical acclaim for his performances in "All of Us Strangers" and Netflix's adaptation of "Ripley."
