Bradley Cooper joins Pearl Jam for surprise performance at BottleRock

Actor Bradley Cooper joined Pearl Jam onstage for an acoustic rendition of "Maybe It's Time" during the band's headlining set at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival on Saturday, May 25th.

Cooper, known for his portrayal of rockstar Jackson Maine in the 2018 film "A Star Is Born," donned his Maine persona for the performance.

The song, written by Jason Isbell, was featured in the film and has a personal connection to Cooper. He previously stated that Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder served as a consultant for the role, inspiring Cooper's portrayal (source: interview leading up to "A Star Is Born" release).

Vedder himself covered "Maybe It's Time" solo at a music festival in 2019. This performance marked a full-circle moment for Cooper, who reportedly drew heavily from Vedder's rockstar persona while crafting the Jackson Maine character.

The performance took place during Pearl Jam's encore after a two-hour setlist spanning their career. The band played classics like "Even Flow" and "Alive" alongside tracks from their latest album "Dark Matter" and covers like "Last Kiss" and "Crazy Mary."

Vedder, known for his casual stage presence, expressed his excitement for Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry's potential future presidency while introducing the song "Waiting for Stevie."

Cooper returned to the stage for the final song, a cover of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World," displaying energetic movement and embodying a true fan experience. Vedder, visibly touched by the performance, remarked, "I'm going to come next year just to watch"
