Kate Hudson once followed her therapist's advice and took a year off from dating.
"I took a full year off," said the ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ actress, on the recent episode of Call Her Daddy podcast.
"I was like, 'What?' I couldn't floor no, yea, none of it. But it was great," added Hudson.
Hudson explained that she made this choice in her thirties because she wanted to take a break from unhealthy relationship patterns.
"I was at that place where I was, like, I don't wanna keep repeating any patterns anymore. I have a great therapist who was, like, 'I can help you, but you have to do it,' " the actress said to Alex Cooper, host.
"Basically, I was like, OK. Well, I guess I can't even text guys," Hudson said while admitting she gets distracted by her flirtatious nature.
"Because we were going through various specific types of therapy, it was really about figuring out certain things that were happening with me," said the ‘Bride Wars’ star.
"And then I had this one sort of breakthrough that was very emotional that I don't think I would have been able to access if I had any distraction," Hudson continued.
The actress also added, "There was no desire for me to be doing anything that had anything to do with potential, you know, flirtation."
"So, then when I was doing that, I remember my therapist a year later was like, 'Okay, I think you can flirt again,' " said Hudson.
The ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ star revealed that although men continued texting her, she no longer had the “same attachment” to flirting anymore.
