The CW has announced the cancellation of the Jared Padalecki-led series "Walker" after four successful seasons. The network expressed its gratitude to the cast, crew, and producers for their dedication.
"We want to thank the entire cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers of Walker for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons," the CW stated. A special acknowledgment was given to Jared Padalecki, both a star and executive producer of the show, for his long-standing contribution to the network’s successes over the past two decades.
"Walker," a modern take on the classic "Walker, Texas Ranger," featured Padalecki as Cordell Walker, a widowed father striving to balance his professional duties with family life.
The ensemble cast included notable actors such as Ashley Reyes, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan, Violet Brinson, Kale Culley, Coby Bell, Jeff Pierre, and Odette Annable.
Padalecki shared his thoughts on the cancellation via Instagram, reflecting on the connections made during the show's run. "Our gratitude and love for the entire #WalkerFamily will live forever," he posted. "It has been a unique honor to be a part of the cast and crew (and fandom!) that helped #Walker tell the stories that we told. I will forever smile on the years I got to spend with the cast and crew and studio and network and fandom that made this all possible. Til we ride again."

The decision to end "Walker" did not come as a shock, with the CW omitting the show from its fall 2024-25 lineup and reports from Deadline Hollywood about the dismantling of the set prior to the announcement.
Under new ownership by Nexstar, the network has shifted focus towards sports and unscripted content, moving away from more costly original dramas.
Despite the end of "Walker," fans of Padalecki may soon see him in another role. Eric Kripke, creator of "The Boys" and a collaborator with Padalecki on "Supernatural," hinted at a potential guest appearance. "Texts have been sent," Kripke revealed to EW. "I feel like it would be a bummer to not have Jared on the show one way or another at this point, even if it's just the one-episode thing."
