Singer-songwriter Beabadoobee (AKA Beatrice Laus) is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated third album, ‘This is How Tomorrow Moves,’ recorded with producer Rick Rubin.

Speaking to The Guardian, Laus assured fans she hadn't lost her signature sound, but admitted that Rubin's unorthodox approach – stripping down her songs to acoustic versions – had a surprising benefit.

“[It] really helped me look at the record in a much clearer light,” she explained.

The singer also spoke about how the process helped her grow as an artist, “It really helped my confidence as a musician. When I heard the songs, just me and acoustic guitar, I was like, ‘Oh sh**, this is actually a really good song.’” Laus said.

Rubin, known for his stripped-down production style with artists like Johnny Cash and Adele, challenged Laus to revisit her demos and learn them acoustically – a process she embraced.

However, she emphasised that her album would remain true to her essence.

“I’m not gonna hide myself just because I made an album with Rick Rubin, and I’m just like, super super serious,” she laughs. “I'm still the same crazy girl!”

The first single from ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves,’ ‘Take A Bite,’ is available now with a music video on YouTube.

The full album will be released on August 16th via Dirty Hit.
