Courteney Cox recently opened up about her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry, sharing her belief that his spirit still lingers and guides her. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Cox expressed her gratitude for the years she spent working closely with Perry, who portrayed Chandler Bing to her Monica Geller on the iconic sitcom.
When asked about her spirituality, Cox revealed that she feels the presence of loved ones who have passed away, including Perry. "I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew — I feel like there are a lot of people that, I think, guide us," she shared. "I do sense, yeah, I sense Matthew's around for sure."
The Friends cast, including Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, were devastated by Perry's passing in October 2023. They released a joint statement expressing their grief and emphasising their close bond as a family.
Cox also shared a personal anecdote on Instagram, recalling Perry's humour and kindness on set. She recounted a moment where he whispered a funny line for her to say before a scene, highlighting his playful nature.
As the 20th anniversary of the Friends finale approached, the cast grappled with the bittersweet prospect of celebrating without their beloved friend. However, they knew Perry would have wanted them to continue cherishing the show's legacy.
Cox's heartfelt words offer a glimpse into the enduring impact of Perry's presence, both on and off screen. While his absence is deeply felt, his memory continues to inspire and guide those who loved him.
