In recently surfaced 2016 surveillance footage obtained by CNN, Sean 'Diddy' Combs is observed punching and kicking his former girlfriend, Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura, in a hotel hallway.
The footage, captured from multiple angles, shows Combs chasing Ventura down the corridor in a towel before assaulting her near the elevators and attempting to drag her back.
The incident reportedly occurred at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, verified by CNN through publicly available interior photos.
After pushing Ventura to the ground, Combs retrieves her purse and suitcase before kicking her again as she lies on the floor. Ventura is then seen slowly standing up and gathering items before reaching a hotel phone.
CNN reports that Combs later paid $50,000 to the InterContinental Century City for the hallway security footage.
The video appears to support allegations made in a 2023 lawsuit by Ventura, accusing Combs of trafficking, sexual assault and repeated physical abuse over a decade.
According to the complaint, which cited the altercation as occurring “around March 2016,” Combs became “extremely intoxicated and punched Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.”
After the mogul fell asleep, Ventura had attempted to leave the hotel room, but he woke up and “followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her,” the complaint said.
“He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape,” it stated.
The lawsuit against Combs was settled the day after it was filed, with the settlement amount remaining undisclosed.
The Independent reached out to representatives for Combs for comment on the incident depicted in the CCTV footage.
This development comes amidst a series of civil lawsuits aimed at the rapper and music mogul, known for his role in launching the careers of several prominent artists, alleging sex trafficking and sexual assault.
Combs has denied all accusations, with his legal team dismissing the lawsuits and their claims as either baseless or opportunistic money grabs.
Notably, Combs has not faced formal charges or accusations from federal prosecutors regarding any criminal activity.
