Reacting to the statement of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur regarding PESCO, Interior Minister Moshin Naqvi cautioned against occupying government premises, threatening action against those involved.
However, he said the utterance of the K-P chief minister pertaining to occupying the PESCO office must be a political rhetoric, with no real intention of following through with action.
Talking to journalists in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi termed Dubai leaks as selected leak, saying many belonging to media and political fraternity, with declared properties in Dubai, are not in the list. It reflects malice behind the selected leak of property ownership data, said the interior minister, adding that the property of his wife mentioned in 'Dubai leaks' was a declared property bought way back in 2017. She had recently sold that property and bought another one, added Naqvi.
Had the properties been undisclosed and undeclared and bought with proceeds of bribery or kickbacks, the media coverage would have been justified, remarked the interior minister.
To a question about protests in Kashmir, he said the matter has been resolved with the timely intervention of the government, adding that there were some leads to suggest involvement of a foreign country in trying to exploit the situation by spreading fake information and tampered videos.
The interior minister said that he was in contact with the Punjab police chief and would soon hold a meeting with the Punjab CM.
