LAHORE:

Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi urged for a dialogue with former prime minister and PTI’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, to guide Pakistan through its current challenges.

Speaking to reporters after his appearance in the accountability court, Elahi, also the president of PTI, emphasized the crucial role of all political entities in creating a conducive environment for stability

"The recent electoral and by-election outcomes indicate a clear rejection of PML-N by the masses. A government formed through dubious means of Form-47 irregularities, cannot garner the people's acceptance," he asserted.Elahi further said that the incumbent regime was reluctant to release the former prime minister as "the fear of his liberation is unsettling for those in power”.

How long will the inept rulers incarcerate Imran Khan and other PTI leaders? God willing, their return to public life is imminent," Elahi said. While advocating for dialogue as the cornerstone of conflict resolution, Elahi lamented the apparent lack of seriousness from the PML-N regarding negotiations.

"Within the PML-N, divergent narratives are emerging regarding negotiations. While some factions favour dialogue, others within the ruling echelon seem inclined to evade substantive discussions," he observed.
