Sarah Paulson recently shared an unforgettable experience on the "Smartless" podcast, where she recounted receiving six pages of unsolicited notes from actress Trish Hawkins after performing in the play "Talley's Folly."

Hawkins, who originated the role of Sally Talley, attended the play with Paulson's mother and later sent a lengthy email critiquing Paulson's performance and offering suggestions based on her own experience.

Paulson, who was taken aback by this "outrageous" act, humorously recounted the incident on the podcast, even mentioning Hawkins' name despite the possibility of legal repercussions.

She admitted to still having the notes but never informed her mother about the incident.

During the podcast, Paulson and the hosts discussed the theatre tradition of celebrities meeting the cast backstage and whether they would accept criticism from such visitors. Paulson's anecdote highlighted the sometimes awkward and unsolicited feedback actors can receive.

Despite this unusual encounter, Paulson has continued to thrive in her career, earning her first Tony nomination this year for her role in "Appropriate."

She has also starred in other Broadway productions, including "The Sisters Rosensweig," "The Glass Menagerie," and "Collected Stories."
