Demi Lovato recently posted pictures of her Met Gala outfit, alongside a caption advertising her positive experiences with the cosmetic injection, Xeomin – known for removing frown lines.

The star showed off her Met Gala look in a shared post with Xeomin’s Instagram account, writing, “Still thinking about this night and this dress🤍 Thank you to my amazing glam team for making me feel so beautiful.”

She continued, “With help from Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) @xeominaesthetic , my frown lines are smooth and I’m red carpet ready.”

The post featured a series of images of the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer posing in her silver dress, adorned with flowers. In the final slide, a series of warnings were listed, including possible “life-threatening” side effects.

Lovato’s post was swarmed with comments criticizing the singer’s promotion of anti-aging injections, despite often publicly emphasising the importance of natural beauty.

Several fans expressed their ‘disappointment,’ with one writing, “Demi, for real? I grew up with you telling me to accept myself and love myself. This is really disappointing, sad and not your style.”

Another said, “Why is a 31 year old pushing wrinkle reduction???? What frown lines???? These beauty standards are beyond ridiculous.”

One user joked, “Remember when you complained about sugar free yogurt…. Mmkay,” referencing an instance in 2021 where Lovato slammed a small business on Instagram for promoting “disordered eating” by selling sugar-free products and diet foods.

Several comments also drew attention to Israel’s war on Gaza, writing “All eyes on Rafah,” adding to a trend of social media users who have condemned the Met Gala for distracting from a “genocide” in which more than 34,000 Palestinians and 1,410 Israelis have been killed.
