Sam Heughan turned heads at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 as he debuted a bold new buzz cut while promoting the eighth and final season of Starz’s hit series, “Outlander.”

Known for portraying Jamie Fraser with signature long locks, the 45-year-old Scottish actor surprised fans with his shorter look and blonde facial hair.

Heughan joined co-stars Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin, as well as executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis, for the “Outlander” panel, where Starz dropped a teaser for the final season, set to air in 2026. Reflecting on his journey, Heughan thanked the devoted fanbase and teased Jamie Fraser’s evolving arc, saying the character is “more fragile” and willing to do anything to avoid losing Claire again.

Although Caitríona Balfe (Claire Fraser) couldn’t attend in person, she addressed fans through a heartfelt pre-recorded message, recalling Comic-Con memories and sharing her excitement for viewers to see how the story concludes after 12 years.

The panel also revealed a sneak peek at the upcoming “Outlander” prequel, Blood of My Blood, which explores the love stories of Jamie’s and Claire’s parents. The spinoff is set to premiere August 8 on Starz.

Heughan also shared he took home several mementos from set, including Jamie Fraser’s full costume and a framed prosthetic scar worn during early episodes.

As “Outlander” enters its final chapter, fans are preparing to say goodbye to an iconic era—and embrace the new stories to come.
