K-Pop idol Cha Eun Woo of ASTRO recently opened up about his grief over fellow band member Moonbin’s death.

The ASTRO member died by suicide in his residence on April 19, 2023, according to StyleCaster.

In an appearance on the chat show, “You Quiz on the Block,” Cha Eun Woo spoke about his bandmate.

“Last year was hard,” he shared, adding that he had penned lyrics for his recent album to express his grief, but he often felt overwhelmed.

“I felt guilty,” Eun Woo confessed, adding, “He appears in my dreams. When someone asks if I'm okay, I don't want to answer. I just want to do better, that's why I'm working hard. I think that's what Binnie would want.”

The interview concluded with Eun Woo sending a message to his bandmate.

“Binnie, are you doing well? I miss you,” he said. “Don't worry, I'm fulfilling your share. Let's meet again.”

In the same interview, Eun Woo also revealed that he wasn't scouted for K-Pop traditionally. “I was attending physics cram school when I was offered an audition,” he said.

Initially hesitant, he went with his mother’s encouragement and began his trainee journey.

“There was no area I was good at,” Eun Woo admitted, describing the initial difficulties. “After three and a half years, I learned patience and endurance.”

The interview also touched on his bond with fellow ASTRO members. “We're deeply connected,” he said, mentioning he even pushed himself to promote the group despite feeling pressure from the spotlight.
