Pop icon Taylor Swift’s 'Eras Tour' is set to launch in the City of Lights, and fans can hardly contain their excitement.
Local businesses are feeling the Swift effect. Beth Beji, owner of Clove Bakery, told the Guardian that her team has been swamped with requests for Taylor Swift-themed cakes and other treats.
"The orders are very specific in the details," said Beji. Fans want everything from Taylor Swift riding a unicorn to replicas of her album covers in frosting.
Honor McWilliams, a 24-year-old Swiftie from Glasgow who lives in Paris, is thrilled to be attending multiple concerts on the tour in both Paris and Milan.
"To this day my love of Taylor Swift has been a cornerstone of many of my personal, and even professional, relationships," she said.
Swift's appeal in France has grown steadily over the years. Her connection to Paris, fueled by romantic songs like "Begin Again" and "Paris," has only added to the anticipation for this week's tour opener.
Professor Linda Bloss-Baum of American University highlights the economic impact of Swift's concerts. "It has an incredible economic impact... The ripple effect with Taylor Swift is amazing, unprecedented."
The Paris shows are significant for fans as they hope for additions from Swift's latest hit album, "The Tortured Poets Department." With ticket prices skyrocketing, some outlets like Le Figaro are even offering advice on avoiding counterfeit tickets.
