Cardi B, fresh off her appearance at the 2024 Met Gala, is giving fans a glimpse into what could have been. The "Bodak Yellow" rapper took to social media on Tuesday to share a behind-the-scenes look at her preparation for the event, which included a surprising reveal

Cardi posted a video on X (formerly twitter) showcasing a stunning green lace gown, a dramatic alternative to the voluminous black dress she ultimately wore. The caption simply read "Green or Black?" sparking a fan frenzy in the comments section.

Responding to a fan's inquiry about the green dress, Cardi shed light on her decision. "It wasn't photographing well," she explained. "It translated different on all lighting and angles on camera." This revelation highlights the meticulous planning that goes into a celebrity's Met Gala look, where every detail, from fabric to silhouette, needs to be red carpet-ready.

The video showed Cardi during a dress fitting, makeup-free, as she walked around in the voluminous green gown. She also reposted a longer video from a fan page that showed her entering a room with multiple dresses in both green and black colors.

"This is not what I was expecting," she said in the video, also jokingly mentioning that the room "smells like fish."

"Don't have me smelling like fish at the Met Gala," she said playfully.

Throughout the video clip, Cardi expressed her anxiety about the Met Gala, saying things like "It's tight right there. It gotta be cut," and "I wanna get it over with. Every time — I feel like every year we do this, it's just like."

"Next year I'm not doing it," she jokingly said at the end of the clip.

This year's Met Gala marked Cardi B's fifth time attending the event. She arrived at the event in a  black gown that was one of the largest dresses seen on the red carpet that night.
