Senator Aimal Wali Khan has been unanimously elected as the central president of the Awami National Party (ANP), while former party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has been bestowed with the title of ‘Rehbar-e-Tehreek’ in the party’s intra-party elections.
Aimal Wali Khan, the fourth generation of Bacha Khan, will actively lead the party. The elections were conducted during the party’s central council meeting, chaired by Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, on Sunday.
Former chief minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti suggested the name of Senator Aimal Wali Khan for the presidency and all members of the Central Council endorsed it.
Senator Daud Khan was elected the central senior vice president while Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan as the secretary general.
Jawad Khattak will be the vice president while Iffat Kalsoom will be the female vice president for Islamabad.
Pervez Khan will be the vice president while Dr. Noor Jehan will be female vice president. Faridullah Damar will be the vice president while Salma Kakar will be the female vice president for Balochistan.
Syed Attaullah Shah will be the vice president from Punjab while Qudsia Shaheen Advocate will be the female vice president.
