Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer to star in gritty Robin Hood reimagining, 'The Death of Robin Hood'
Deadline has reported that Oscar-nominated Hugh Jackman ("Les Misérables") and Emmy-winner Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve") are set to breathe new life into the classic tale of Robin Hood in the upcoming film, "The Death of Robin Hood". Acclaimed director Michael Sarnoski ("Pig", "A Quiet Place: Day One") will both write and direct this gritty reimagining.
The film, which will be on sale at the Cannes Film Festival, promises a darker and more complex take on the iconic hero. This Robin Hood is haunted by his criminal past, a wounded warrior grappling with the consequences of his actions. When gravely injured, a mysterious woman offers him a chance at redemption. Production is scheduled to begin inFebruary 2025.
"The Death of Robin Hood" is fully financed by Lyrical Media and produced by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett of Ryder Picture Company, alongside Alexander Black for Lyrical Media.
