Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf held discussions with Chinese Navy Commander Admiral Hu Zhongming on Friday during his visit to the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) in Qingdao.
During the visit, the counterparts discussed matters of bilateral naval cooperation and regional maritime security issues.
The navy chief underscored the Pakistan Navy's commitment to regional maritime peace and stability through maritime security patrols.
Admiral Zhongming commended the Pakistan Navy's role in joint maritime security efforts in the region and stressed the significance of robust bilateral maritime cooperation.

The visit is expected to bolster defence relations between the two nations overall, particularly strengthening ties between their armed forces.
Earlier this week, on May 1, the media wing of the military notified that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of United Kingdom (UK) Army General Sir Patrick Sanders convened at the National Defence University (NDU) to inaugurate the 6th Pakistan-UK Regional Stabilization Conference.
On April 29, COAS met Commander Turkish Land Forces General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to discuss matters of mutual interest and strategies to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
